Sr. Scientist Protein Formulations

Job Description:


This individual will be a key member of the pharmaceutical development group and be responsible for providing scientific leadership to development programs in the early stages of their lifecycle, from pre-toxicology to clinical phase.  Responsibilities include pre-formulation characterization, solubility studies, formulation development and screening studies, forced degradation and stress studies, and other biophysical assessments of protein based therapeutics.  This individual will collaborate with Process Development, Manufacturing and Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) to develop scalable formulation processes for both Drug Substances and Drug Products throughout the product development life cycle.  In addition, this individual would also engage in other pharmaceutical research and product development activities that support worldwide product licenses.



Job Requirements


Job Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related disciplines with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a biotechnology/pharmaceutical environment is required.
  • Must have technical expertise in protein pre-formulation and formulation development, and strong analytical and biophysical characterization skills.
  • Must have knowledge of ICH Quality Guidelines and current Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Must have solid knowledge of requirements for regulatory submissions (IND/IMPD/BLA/NDA) and oversee authoring and reviewing CMC sections.
  • This individual must be able to develop project plans and define risk mitigation plans for projects.
  • The individual should also have strong and effective interpersonal skills and be able to work in a goal oriented, timeline driven multi-product biotechnology environment.
