MEDICAL CODING

•  Assigns medical codes for billing and performs monthly audits. Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, pharmacology, surgical and medical procedures to accurately assign medical codes for billing.

• Must have knowledge of medical abbreviations, their meanings, interpretation, and basic computer functionality skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, and the internet to research coding information.

• Provides training, feedback and quality control to medical staff and documents patient records per DoD, Air Force, Medicare and Medicaid Services Guidelines.

• Must be accredited from a nationally recognized accrediting body such as American Health Information Medical Assoc. or American Academy of Professional Coders.
