 Part Time Research Assistant I

Regenstrief Institute, Inc. is seeking a Part Time Research Assistant I to join our Health Services Research working regularly 20 hours per week on a project for the Indiana Department of Health. 

Regenstrief Institute is a not-for-profit world renowned healthcare research organization located near IUPUI’s campus in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana.   It is closely affiliated with the IU School of Medicine, Roudebush VA Medical Center and Wishard Health Services.

Requirements

Job Requirements include:

  • Permanent work authorization

  • High school diploma.  College degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of one year successful work experience.  
  • Medical setting experience preferred. 
  • Ability to interact and verbally communicate with a variety of employees, hospital staff, and hospital patients.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Experience with research and sighting literature.
  • Ability to write simple reports and operational correspondence.
  • Ability to read and follow general policies, procedures, and study protocols.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to think logically in order to troubleshoot, analyze situations, and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and
  • e-mail systems.
  • Ability to operate office equipment, including copiers, fax machines, and phones.
  • Ability to travel to research sites and patient homes in the metropolitan area.
