Job Description

As an agent operating as an independent contractor, you will be representing American Family Insurance products exclusively. Following an extensive training period, you will learn and grow under the direction of a District Sales Manager. If you have what it takes to be an American Family Insurance Sales Agent, we’ll help you succeed – assistance with locating and staffing your office, financial support early on, and marketing support throughout your career. As owner and manager of your agency, you will grow your business by hiring your own support and sales staff.

Job Requirements

What is the process to becoming an American Family Agent?

Successfully obtaining Property, Casualty, Life and Health Insurance licenses, undergoing a background check and interviews are all part of the appointment process. These steps help the candidate, and American Family, decide if the agent career is right for them. Obtaining Series 6 and 63 Security licenses is also required within the first 12 months of beginning training with American Family Insurance.

Training and support offered by American Family Insurance to new agents

Training consists of classroom instruction and field experiences designed to provide the core skills and knowledge needed to be successful American Family agents. New agents will be coached and evaluated often by their District Manager.
