Description

Performs a variety of functions such as installation, maintenance, and repair of devices, which control and are controlled by the baggage handling system, passenger loading bridges and related equipment.


  • Perform emergency repairs from customer via pager and/or phone.
  • Conducts daily and periodic shift inspections, cleaning, and diagnostics of mechanical/electrical system components based on an established scheduled preventive maintenance program.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs all control system and electrical failures by applying comprehensive technical knowledge to solve problems by interpreting manufacturer manuals or similar documents.
  • Perform adjustments in belt tracking, belt tension and/or gearbox and bearing lubrication.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on components based on an established scheduled preventive maintenance program to include, but not limited to, motors, clutches, brakes, bearings, drive belts, drive shafts, pulleys, gearboxes (speed reducers), and/or conveyor belting.
  • Complete Pm Checklist in accordance with established procedures, document accordingly in applicable computer program.
  • Remove and replace plug-in type boards and components. Align, replace, and clear photocells.
  • Dismantle, repair, and reassemble equipment or machines for stock replacement and/or to restore equipment to operational status.
  • Makes repairs of connectors, wiring and fuses on-site, and cleans and performs diagnostic routines of electrical and control system components.
  • May diagnose and correct PLC and operating system software issues through use of computer.
  • Maintain work orders in applicable computer program.
  • Ability to work in tight and/or high spaces using appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
Requirements
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent and technical school or experience in related field.
  • Minimum one year of experience with PLCs and/or computer related maintenance experience.
  • Experience/knowledge of conveyor and/or passenger boarding bridges.
  • Knowledge of airport operations and maintenance preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal amount of specific direction and guidance.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Employer’s insurance policy.
