The primary purpose of this position is to manage truck shipments, intermodal shipments, shipper and carrier communication, problem-solving and order management. Key accountabilities will include:
Daily management and coordination of shipments with both shippers and carriers
Establish and coordinate schedule with carrier and tender shipments
Source carriers and negotiate rates
Track and trace all shipments and load status
Update and maintain transportation management and operation system(s)
Proactively identify problems and swiftly implement the appropriate solution
Confirm rates with carriers
Responsible for cost containment of shipment
Evaluate shipments, consolidate loads, select most cost effective method of delivery
Lane analysis required on order to select most appropriate mode
Perform other duties as requested or assigned
Manage shipper and carrier relationships
Generate business leads

Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
Degree preferred but will consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
Experience with an asset based or non asset based transportation company
This is an entry level job, please no more than 3 years experience in a logistics position
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Team player with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
High energy and performance level
Working knowledge of MS Office Critical, time sensitive decision making that impacts contractual agreement
