Job Summary:
Flagstar Bank is seeking a sales oriented, dynamic individual to join our retail banking team as retail lending professional. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of mortgage lending for banking centers in a specified retail banking area. Responsible for identifying, selecting and training certified lenders, the retail lending professional provides coaching and support to ensure goals are achieved.
Responsibilities:
- Builds relationships internally and externally at all organizational levels.
- Develops business plans, increases market share and generates company profits.
- Develops business through both internal and external sales efforts.
- Leads, mentors and develops selected team members to meet organizational and departmental goals.
- Makes decisions using the bank’s mortgage guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Plays an integral role in assisting team members with goal achievement.
- Produces weekly reports to show management production.
- Provides guidance to ensure completion of daily tasks.
- Provides exceptional customer service.
- Works closely with the regional sales manager to identify, train and coach certified lenders.
- Writes and conducts performance reviews.
- Uses database information for marketing purposes.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- A minimum of 3 years mortgage sales management experience preferred.
- Mortgage origination experience with an emphasis on self sourced business.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the mortgage industry, mortgage products, real estate transactions and loan structuring.
- Demonstrated ability to hire, motivate and manage sales staff.
- Strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills and sales ability.
- Strong team building and sales coaching skills.
- Ability to display a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision is required.
- Competently utilize computer software – MS Word, MS Excel, Windows, databases, email and the Internet are an integral part of day to day activity.
- Ability to be flexible with work hours, 7:30-7:30 PM Monday – Friday, 8:30-4 PM Saturday and 12-4 PM Sunday; may be required to work overtime based on business need.
