SQL/Data Warehouse Systems Analyst

Biomet, a leading manufacturer of orthopedic devices, is seeking a SQL/Data Warehouse Systems Analyst. This position develops programs, performs analysis and modifications, and provides technical support for SQL/Data Warehouse and related application solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Additional duties may be assigned.

• Support BTBS Business Units, initially the Sales and Marketing Organization, and Supply Chain.
• Perform ongoing systems development, application administration and tool support for existing and future Data Marts enhancing ETL, Cube based ad hoc analysis and reporting. 
• Analyze business needs, and develop systems based on AS400-DB2 source mapping and models into SQL Server Data Mart solutions.
  • Work closely with business and technical teams to understand, document, design and code programs and develop/alter SSAS cubes and ad hoc analysis
• Develop SSIS extracts, SSRS reports with SSAS data source, SSAS OLAP cubes, dashboards or scorecards based on business requirements.​ Lead development of new sales, marketing and supply chain based solutions as directed by senior management. 
• Finalize forms, procedures, and documentation needed for installation and maintenance of application programs.
  • Partner with user teams in the development of sales based applications and solutions.
  • Interface with users to advise on language and development platform capabilities for consideration in new applications

The ideal candidate must possess the following education/experience:

• Bachelors Degree in Technology or Business
• At least 3-5 years experience SQL Server Data Warehousing, 5-10 years experience as IT professional.
• Expertise with architecting and implementing SSAS CUBEs for slicing and dicing data.

Additional Skills Required:

• The following skills are required: Microsoft SQL Server 2005/8, SQL Server BI platform, (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, MDX) BI Development Studio, SQL Server management studio, ability to design and build SSAS cubes.
• ETL Programming, logical and physical data modeling.
• Knowledge of AS400 databases.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A wide degree of independence and creativity is expected.
• Optional but desirable: ability to make enhancements to existing .NET web based sales applications.
