Description

The successful candidate for Director of Finance and IT will oversee and lead all financial and IT aspects of the Distribution Segment for Myers Industries.  This position reports directly to the Managing Director of the Distribution Segment.

 

Responsibilities:

Full P&L and balance sheet responsibilities

Partner with leadership in developing strategic business plans 

Drive long term financial modeling, annual budgeting, and monthly forecasting

Manage monthly financial close process, as well as all financial reporting

Mentor, coach and develop staff

Develop and maintain control environment

Responsible for all Sarbanes Oxley compliance requirements

Lead and direct IT department

Complete special projects as assigned

 

Requirements

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • MBA or CPA strongly preferred
  • At least 7 years experience in accounting or finance, having held positions of increasing scope and responsibility, including at least 2 years experience as a senior-level business partner for a business unit
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Prior supervisory experience required
  • Cross-functional experience strongly desirable
  • Distribution experience is a plus 
  • In depth knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Ability to work non-traditional work hours as needed
  • Prior e-commerce support experience is desirable
  • Ability to develop new analytical tools and reporting
