Position is located in the beautiful Demorest, GA (two hours north of Atlanta, GA)

 

Job Description:

  • Provides mental health services to adults, children and adolescents in an outpatient setting.  Includes individual counseling, diagnostic assessments, group therapy, family counseling.

  • Will work in the community to provide community based counseling to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.

  • Must be available to work some evenings and weekends as needed.

  • Must be able to work on an interdisciplinary team.

  • Criminal Background Check is required on all employees.
  • Pre-employment Drug Screen required on most employees (determined by job class).
  • Motor Vehicle Report required on all employees who transport consumers. *Must have valid drivers license and no driver may have more than two chargeable accidents, moving violations or DUI's in a three year period with the seven year MVR report.
  • TB Skin test is required on all employees who work with consumers.(Provided by AVITA at no cost to the employee)

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: 

•Unlicensed ($30,822.75/yr): Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field that will allow professional licensure as an LAPC, LMSW or LAMFT by the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists within six months of start date.(Upon receipt of Associate licensure, employee is eligible for a 5% increase in pay)


•Associate Licensed ($32,363.89):
  Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy.  Associate Licensure as a LAPC, LAMFT or LMSW by the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists.

Fully Licensed ($37,183.00/yr): Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy.  Full Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist by the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists.

Must have valid drivers license and no driver may have more than two chargeable accidents, moving violations or DUI's in a three year period with the seven year MVR report.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Associate Licensure or Full Licensure
•Experience with SMPI a plus
