Description
Job Title: Lead Estimator – Western Strategic Business Unit (SBU)
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: Leadership Team – Western SBU
Summary of Position:
Primarily responsible for the quotation preparation of thermoplastic, thermoset and thixomolding for the Western SBU, which currently are the Loveland, Colorado and Saltillo, Mexico plants. This position works closely with the Leadership Team for the Western SBU and project engineers to develop and submit aggressive sales quotes.
Essential Functions:
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Responsible for detailed quotes, both for estimates and firm quotes, as required by the customer.
- Ability to follow-up on all existing and pending quotes in a timely manner.
- Maintain an awareness of competitors’ products and pricing including new trends and developments in the industry.
- Develop an in-depth expertise of Parkway’s products and pricing.
- Strong technical background in these target technologies (TP, TS, TXM, Tooling).
- Proactive/problem solver.
- Blueprint interpretation/GD-T.
- Rudimentary understanding of job costing or cost accounting.
- Ability to travel to Saltillo plant as required.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Degree, or equivalent work experience, in related field is required. Must understand one or more of the following: plastic injection molding processes and secondary processing operations, magnesium thixomolding processes and secondary processing operations, thermoset injection and compression molding and secondaries, tooling for above technologies. Must have a working knowledge of Solidworks or 3D Modeling. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have an understanding of MRP systems. Must be able to react to sudden market changes and handle multiple priorities effectively.
Minimum Qualifications: Technical degree or equivalent 2 years experience
