Job Description 

Energy Conversion Devices is seeking a Project Finance Manager to join our Corporate Marketing team.

 

  • Primary focus and function will be the origination, negotiation and execution of project finance transactions.
  • Ability to evaluate and analyze ownership and governance structures including framework agreements, joint ventures, partnerships, and acquisitions.
  • Ability to execute solar project financing structures using a variety of non-recourse project finance structures including term debt, subordinated debt, equity, and contributed asset transactions.
  • Ability to apply structuring and financing knowledge to existing project and financing templates, as well as taking lead in the development of new structured finance solutions that support corporate goals and partner requirements.
  • Coordinate directly with business partners, banks, institutional investors, and government agencies (e.g. US DOT, DOE, EXIM), including underwriting and legal teams to manage the timely funding of project transactions.
  • Manage internal and external legal and finance staff in the drafting, negotiation and execution of framework agreements, MOU’s, term sheets, financing documents and contracts associated with solar project financing.
  • Develop and maintain the required financial models required to analyze IRR, income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, debt service, equity returns, and key financial ratios.
  • Drive awareness and acceptance (bankability) of ECD/USO product / project solutions within the project finance community
 


Job Requirements 

 

  • Seven to ten years of relevant professional experience, ideally in renewable project finance, either for a major manufacturer / developer or financial institution
  • Knowledge and expertise in project finance, tax equity, sale-leaseback, ownership flip, term debt, and sub debt structures
  • Superior skills in financial modeling within Excel; strong skills in Powerpoint
  • Experience in both European and US project finance transactions; Asia-Pacific experience a plus
  • Ability to concurrently manage multiple projects and resources teams (both internal and external)
  • Strong communication skills with a high level of social competence
  • Undergraduate degree in Business / Finance required; MBA with concentration in Corporate Finance preferred or comparable business experience in Project Development and Finance
