The Rockville office is looking for a Manufacturing Mechanic whose responsibilities include routine operation and maintenance of utility and HVAC systems, set-up of filling machine, capper and other equipment used in manufacturing activities for aseptic filling of vaccine. This person will perform routine preventative maintenance and repair of autoclaves, depyrogenation oven, vial washer, labeler and other equipment used in the preparation, filling, and packaging operations. This person will provide technical assistance and troubleshooting during the production runs with the equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operation and maintenance of utility systems such as water , steam, and HVAC
- Set-up of equipment such as aseptic fill machine, cappers, etc
- Perform preventative maintenance of production equipment such as autoclaves, labelers, filler, capper, etc
- Document all work in compliance with GMP and good documentation practices
- Execute routine and repair work orders on production equipment and utilities
- Specify spare parts and maintain inventory for production equipment
- Execute change over of equipment between products
- Assist engineering with upgrades and retrofit of equipment
Requirements
The right individual needs a HS degree with required 3-5 years’ experience as a mechanic in a GMP facility. Must have basic knowledge of Utility and HVAC systems as well as experience with utilizing work order programs. Experience in the use of precision measuring tools such as calipers, repairing and trouble shooting automated machinery (labelers, fillers, material handling conveyors...etc) is required. The ability to read and work from schematics, electrical drawings, manuals, etc of the production equipment is a must. Vaccination will be required for this position.
