Job Description 

A person of any fitness level can meet all of their health and fitness needs at any Sports Club location. TSI is known by its customers and industry professionals alike as a place for serious fitness. All TSI clubs offer a wide range of exercise and fitness programs, with some facilities also offering racquet sports, pools, basketball courts, and other recreational activities. Clubs are fully equipped with a wide variety of strength training equipment, cardiovascular machines, and other exercise equipment. Additional services such as personal training, massage, steam room and sauna, Sports Clubs for Kids and fitness assessments are also available.

Position Summary

This job contributes to TSI’s success by leading and designing the effective and consistent delivery of HR programs that enhance the mission, values, principles, and deliverables of the organization. Contributes to assigned business unit's success by aligning TSI HR functions and shared services with other strategic drivers in the organization. Models and acts in accordance with TSI behavior expectations.

 


Job Requirements 

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Leadership - Setting goals for the work group, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together:

  • Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct reports promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.
  • Supports the implementation of Company programs, procedures, methods and practices to promote TSI’s key messages and achieve a competitive advantage.

Planning and Execution - Developing strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing execution, and measuring results:

  • Provides relevant information from the designated group to senior HR management to influence strategic decision making.
  • Leads the design, development and implementation of the HR strategic plan and tactics for the designated customer group in collaboration with talent management and compensation / total pay departments.
  • Plans and manages business unit and department processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives.
  • Prepares, communicates and educates client groups and team on changes in policies and practices within the organization.
  • Works in coordination with business leaders and designated financial representative to ensure cost efficiencies through the appropriate allocation of financial resources and utilization of tracking tools and measurements.

 Business Requirements - Providing functional expertise and executing functional responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with shared services groups to meet business unit objectives. Partners with the compensation team to execute and deliver compensation and benefits programs that support and maintain all destination-employer initiatives. Partners with the talent management team to execute staffing and recruiting strategies that support customer needs, and to identify, develop and execute learning and training services and programs that support customer group needs.
  • Consults and advises client group leadership concerning work unit performance and effectiveness; and corresponding individual performance and development that support organizational performance.
  • Consults with appropriate HR staff, customers and legal department on employee relations concerns and complaints to ensure prompt response, consistency, and compliance with internal policies and procedures and external employment laws and regulations. Conducts and provides direction to HR consultants relating to investigations for employment-related claims.
  • Monitors and reports on organizational climate and client group trends through turnover, exit interviews, and other relevant employee environment measures.  Monitors work unit performance effectiveness and individual performance and effectiveness trends.
  • Provides advice and consultative support to senior management to ensure performance management, staffing, succession planning, and learning and development strategies support business unit goals.

Employee Development & Team Building - Providing employees with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective teams:

  • Challenges and inspires employees to achieve business results.
  • Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews.
  • Ensures employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.
  • Oversees training and development of employees directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions.
  • Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve employee, business and membership results.

Summary of Experience

  • Advanced experience in consulting and working with senior leaders in the design, development, and execution of human resources strategies and initiatives, including change management, training and development, staffing, and succession planning, and performance management.
  • Leadership and management skills managing a human resources team with multi-functional generalist accountabilities in the areas of staffing, partner relations, learning and organizational development.
  • Human resource specialist in staffing, compensation, benefits, and employee relations preferred.
  • Progressive experience providing human resources management services in a high-growth environment.
