Full Time (40 hrs/wk) and
Part Time (20 hrs/wk)opportunities for a Mental Health Professional at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Dover, DE.
The successful candidate will be responsible to provide direct clinical services and consultation services in accordance with policies and procedures of Mental Health Services, policies and regulations of the Department of Corrections (DOC) and in accordance with ethics and standards of staff member's discipline.
Duties include:
- Provision of specialized clinical services and/or program development activities providing these duties have been assumed with the mutual agreement of Director of Mental Health Services and/or designee
- Completion of specific duties and responsibilities as designated by the Director of Mental Health Services
- Responsible to interrelate and work effectively with other Mental Health Services' staff, Department of Corrections' (DOC) staff, Correctional Medical Services (CMS) administrative and medical personnel, inmates and outside support agencies
- Responsible to maintain confidentiality of inmate information in accordance with institutional policy
- Inform Director of Mental Health Services of clinical or employee concerns. Correctional Medical Services (CMS) administrative staff will assist with problem resolutions
- Provide group and individual therapy as time permits. Provision of these services includes the completion of ongoing progress notes
- Provision of crisis intervention services when requested by institutional staff, medical staff or by inmate self-referral. Crisis intervention can include consultation with institutional staff regarding management concerns, referral and/or follow up. Crisis intervention activities may require on-call services on a rotating basis.
- Provision of psychological evaluations as requested by appropriate agencies in accordance with the policy and procedure of Mental Health Services. Evaluations are to be completed in a timely manner and include the administration and interpretation of psychological assessment techniques appropriate to referral and within the scope of staff member's education and professional experience.
The successful candidate will have a
Master's degree in psychology, social work or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Professional experience indicating knowledge of Adult group and individual mental health counseling, diagnosis and treatment of major mental disorders, crisis intervention and/or psychological evaluation techniques is also required.
LSW or LCSW preferred
