Registered Nurse - Neuro ICU (Full-time/Permanent)

Under the supervision of the director/manager or designee, the registered nurse provides holistic, individualized patient care in response to identified needs of the patient with neurological/neurosurgical conditions.  Additional functions will be performed in accordance with the AANN standards and Nurse Practice Act in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the organization.

Responsibilities also include:

• Assures quality care through compliance with departmental policies, hospital and external regulatory agency guidelines.

• Demonstrates desirable work habits and promotes personal growth and professionalism in the work environment.

• Effectively performs the duties and responsibilities of a critical care nurse using the nursing process.

• Provides and documents quality patient care consistently according to hospital standards and policy/procedures.

• Accepts accountability and responsibility as a member of the department of nursing services.

• Addendum - charge nurse - participation in activities that promote quality patient care and efficient functioning of unit.

• Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing

• RN with current license or RN with a temporary permit to practice in Texas

• Experience with high acuity neuro/neurosurgical patients is preferred

• Current BCLS certification

• Current ACLS certification

• Current Specialty certification preferred

• Current CNRN or CCRN preference
