Description
  1. Perform general maintenance work on manufacturing machinery and facility structures.
  2. Operate lift trucks in a safe manner.
  3. Handle, dispense and apply the various types of lubricants.
  4. Basic math, includes working with numbers, angles, areas and volumes
  5. Basic ability to read and understand prints including scales, symbols and dimensions
  6. Familiar with hand tools, measuring and cutting tools and the safe use of.
  7. Familiar with Types of basic shop power tools and the safe use of.
  8. Basic concepts of electricity, including voltage, current, resistance, ohm's law, transformers, capacitors and characteristics of circuits
  9. Familiar with and can identify differences between AC and DC current, inductive and resistive circuits, single and 3 phase systems
  10. Understands the  functions and proper use of basic lifting equipment, hoists, chain falls and slings
  11. Capable of reading and understanding electrical schematics, includes, single line, block diagrams, motor control circuits and power distribution.
  12. Understand functions and able to use VOM for testing and troubleshooting

 

  1. Able to interpret mechanical drawings
  2. Able to work alone and unsupervised with minimal instruction when required.
  3. Performs Preventive Maintenance on all equipment listed on PM program in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  4. Performs measurements using tools and or test instruments such as calipers, micrometers and dial indicators.
  5. General knowledge of power transmission components and repair.
  6. types of wire and cables, and rating of wires and cables. Able to determine the size and types needed for job based on equipment specifications and rated load.
  7. Types and sizes of conduit and fittings, how to size for multi circuit feeders. Knowledge of bending cutting and installation of conduit.
  8. Select connectors and insulator while correctly splicing high current carrying circuits
  9. How to use the NEC for locating information necessary to meet code.
  10. Knowledge of DC motor parts, understand operation of DC motors, tests,Maintenance and upkeep.
  11. Understand AC motors, sizes, frames, wiring of multi-phase and troubleshooting.
  12. Basic operation and use of multi-meters and other test equipment.
  13. Must have demonstrated the ability to run shift without assistance and satisfactory completed all tasks presented.
  14. Must be proficient with NFPA policies and procedures.
  15. Types of switches, functions and principles of protective equipment such as circuit breakers and fuses.
  16. How to properly size protective circuit interruption based and loads actual and potential.
  17. Understand the theory and operation of solenoids, coils, magnetic starters, rectifiers, power supplies, PB operators, and relays (mechanical and solid state).
  18. Understand the components of PLC's, able to install, basic troubleshooting of hardware, wiring and maintaining.
  19. Able to correctly use milli-amp, milli-volt and TC signal generator for calibration purposes.
  20. Must demonstrate the ability to undertake projects that require advanced problem solving skills, complete installation or modification of machines or equipment, using details from drawings and prints.
  21. Able to read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic system diagrams
  22. Full comprehension of operation, wiring, troubleshooting and maintenance of motor controllers (AC & DC)
  23. Understanding ladder logic and troubleshoot using on HMI or laptop.
  24. Must demonstrate electrical troubleshooting skills such as repairing relay logic, configuring parameters in AC/DC drives and basic PLC input/output interpretation. Able to replace components in control circuitry, AC/DC drives and PLC racks
  25. Able to restore program if lost or download programming changes and back-up any changes on laptop or server.
  26. Provide maintenance support for manufacturing department, safety program, and process improvement teams.
  27. Troubleshoot and repair electronic instrumentation and control systems on plant equipment and machinery.
  28. Install, program, calibrate, troubleshoot and repair DC and AC motor drives.
  29. Troubleshoot, repair and reprogram programmable process controls.
  30. Update schematics and drawings of plant control equipment.
  31. Assist in developing and revising programs for PLCs.
  32. Analyze and revise electrical/electronic schematics and drawings.
  33. Assist in designing and implementing electrical/electronic controls to improve production, safety and equipment reliability.
  34. Analyze problems encountered in the plant and improve the quality of product, production output and working conditions.
  35. Assist in training other maintenance personnel electrical/electronic control and drive systems.
  36. Obtain training on plant environmental, health and safety programs, process equipment, and current industrial technologies.

 

 

Requirements

The Electronics Technician must possess knowledge of installation methods, plant processes, industrial equipment and layouts, and a working knowledge of federal, state and local electrical regulations, laws and codes (NEC, NFPA70E) that apply to manufacturing facility.

This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is accountable for start-up, debugging and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic controls systems, and general maintenance.  To accomplish these tasks, individual must be able to use an oscilloscope, multi-meter and a variety of test equipment. 

 

 

Requirements

 

            Minimum two-year electronics technology degree

            Five or more years experience in similar industry
    Or Ten years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
