Sarah Cannon Research Institute
The Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI) is the largest community based cancer research program in the country.
The Accounting Manager – Clinical Operations will be directly responsible for the accounting duties related to the Sarah Cannon Research Institute and its associated companies. This includes month-end close, variance analysis, revenue recognition practices, statistical reporting and development of both the capital and operating budgets. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for the Accounts Payable department of SCRI.
Responsibilities include:
· Responsible for the oversight and review of the monthly close process
· Responsible for the Clinicial Operations general ledger system and subsidiary ledgers,
· Responsible for all accounting related matters, including drafting of GAAP policy memos for all new and unusual accounting transactions,
· Assist with the preparation of financial information for Board meetings,
· Responsible for all site financial reporting, this will include the quarterly provider payments, site impact models and any other financial information as needed.
· In addition to developing and reviewing the processes and procedures associated with the accounts payable function, this individual will be responsible for the development of reporting tools and metrics to measure the success of the department.
· Assess individual components of the Clinical Operations’ lines of business by reviewing the department’s financial and operational performance. This will include working with department leaders to ensure that all accounting aspects of new business are properly accounted for and that the necessary reporting is generated.
· Assist in the preparation, coordination, review, and compilation of the capital and operating budgets for all SCRI entities,
· Preparation of weekly projections to be included in the Corporate weekly forecast to be provided to HCA-Outpatient Services Group,
· Document (where processes currently exist evolve) processes and policies and procedures for Accounting. This will include working with accounting management to identify processes for which either no defined procedures exist or the procedures are ineffective or the processes does not accomplish the intended tasks in the most efficient manner,
· Respond to the requests for information from Corporate, Internal Audit, Corporate Tax, Group/Division management, and other internal management.
· Management, development and training of Senior Accountant, Staff Accountants and Financial Assistants.
Requirements
EDUCATION
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
EXPERIENCE
· Minimum 7+ years accounting/auditing/management experience
· Experience in public accounting and/or healthcare provider financial operations preferred
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE
· CPA is a requirement
