Description Major established company that pursues excellence and provides industrial products throughout the world has an opportunity in Arkansas for a Sr. Design Engineer to be involved in developing technology roadmaps, research power devices, drive systems and topologies and provide proven technology building blocks to product development teams.   Will interact closely with other power electronics engineers, control and hardware design engineers, PCB layout designers, technicians and test personnel.
Requirements - BSEE with a preference for a MSEE

- at least 10 years in power electronics design pertaining to adjustable speed drives or related fields

- good understanding of operation for induction, PM and switched-reluctance motors

- design experience of high power IGBT-based power platforms for drives and active front ends

- strength with Matlab, Simulink

- excellent written and verbal communication skills

- experience in design of digital and analog circuits, gate circuits for IGBT and power MOSFETs

- working experience with power line filters, techniques for mitigation of EMI, drive input current harmonics and output common-mode noise is strongly desired

- experience with circuit simulation, schematic capture, component selection and documentation
