Transport Driver

 

Location: Eugene, OR

Salary: DOQ

Hours: Monday – Friday Swing Shift (start at 12:00 noon)

CDL Requirement – Class A CDL

DRIVER: TRANSPORT (Tractor Trailer)

PNB, Mt. Angel has a Transport Driver position based out of Eugene, OR available.  This position is responsible for driving a tractor/trailer truck to make long-distance pick-ups and deliveries of predominantly finished product or materials/supplies. This is a swing shift position, hours Monday – Friday, start time12:00 noon.  May occasionally be required to stay over night, but majority of time will be home every night.


Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Deliver finished product or raw materials to assigned destination
  • Ensure safety and compliance of load
  • Checks and/or assists in the loading/unloading of the trailer
  • Obtains proper authorization for all deliveries/pick-ups
  • Responsible for checking vehicle for proper and safe operating condition before and after each trip
  • Must maintain a DOT driver’s log, other required transportation documentation and adhere to all DOT and PNB regulations

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Class A CDL required, Hazmat endorsements preferred
  • Experience operating trucks requiring a CDL Class A license (for example, driving forwards, driving backwards, maneuvering in tight spaces, dropping and hooking, operating landing gear, or backing into docks and confined spaces)
  • Experience preferred in hauling consumer products and perishable consumer goods (for example, transporting unstable loads or hauling different weights on different trip segments)
  • Experience operating a tractor-trailer in different conditions (for example, highway driving, side/local roads, city/country, maneuvering in tight spaces)
  • Requires working tractor/trailer components, including bending and cranking landing gear as well as climbing in and out of cabs and sitting for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift cases weighing 20-45 pounds
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and DOT physical requirements
