JOB DESCRIPTION



Position Overview

The Sales Representative is responsible for procuring new customer accounts and servicing and maintaining new and existing customer accounts. The Sales Representative must at minimum possess a high school diploma or GED, be able to work with minimal supervision and be available to take business calls from prospective and existing customers at all times in order to promote sales and provide superior customer service.

Status: Exempt

Sales Representatives receive an established base salary that covers compensation for all hours worked in a workweek. In addition to the base salary, Sales Reps receive a commission based on our program , which is based on productivity. Sales Representatives must be able to work flexible and extended hours, including Saturdays and holidays as required.

 

Responsibilities

● Provide customers with the highest standard of customer service through contact, follow up and consultation after the sale to promote growth in the assigned territory.

● Maintain cooperative working relationships with all corporate departments to ensure sales are processed efficiently to achieve customer satisfaction.

● Coordinate and work cooperatively with the branch personnel to assure that work orders are being handled properly and timely.

● Close the sale, gather all detailed information, and develop a sales plan for each account.

● Continuously evaluate competitive activity and improve on sales technique to attain new accounts.

● Follow strategies and tactics communicated by the Regional Sales Manager and assist in establishing sales goals.

● Schedule a minimum of 3 appointments per week.

● Close at least 3 to 4 new accounts per week.

● Procure at least 3 brand new accounts monthly.

● Contact prospective customers through a combination of telephone and in person contact to obtain appointments for sales meetings.

● Maintain a current list of light industrial businesses, a Construction Blue Book, Dodge Reports and classified advertisements at all times to assist with the Call Logs and the Daily Sales Call Sheets.

● Maintain an awareness of the customers business environment in order to resolve customer service issues effectively.

● Prepare comprehensive and effective sales presentations.

● Inform the Regional Manager and obtain approval of all customer specific contractual and insurance requirements.

● Procure approved credit applications and verified rate sheets from all new accounts before servicing

● Sense of urgency and commitment with strong follow up skills.
