Position Summary:

Our marketing team is focused on building a more robust Shareyourself.org external volunteer website, making our Emerging Leaders United initiative more viral and, with the arrival of the Community Issues Management web tool, transitioning our website into an information portal that non-profits and governments will use for research and decision making.

Responsibilities:
  • As e-Marketing Manager you will be instrumental in developing new marketing techniques and new media to reach our donor base at the workplace and at home through blast emails, viral marketing, social networking and other e-marketing communications.  
  • As a key member of the best nonprofit marketing team in Baltimore you will implement marketing opportunities for the United Way brand and its core products and manage the development and content of UWCM's external website.
  • You will report directly to the Vice President, Marketing and Communications and work closely and collaboratively with colleagues in each of our departments to ensure that your materials tell just how donor contributions translate into community impact.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 yrs experience in marketing (internet and direct marketing concentration).

  • Experience with nonprofits a plus.

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to identify and pursue partnership opportunities

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment

  • Adept at coordination of people, tools and facilities to reach a goal.  

  • Must have thorough knowledge of web marketing tools in both the design and development areas including but not limited to: 

  • open source CMS (Joomla!)

  • mass email delivery systems

  • social networking sites

  • viral media marketing. 

  • Software experience with intermediate HTML, Quark, Adobe and Database management required
