Job Description

VisionQuest a behavioral health agency that works with at-risk teens and families is currently seeking a Registered Nurse Team Leader for our program located in Okeechobee, Florida. Okeechobee is about an hour south of Orlando, Florida.

 

The person in this position is responsible for promoting and maintaining the health and well being of each youth in the program. 

 

Job Responsibilities: 

 

  • Health and safety evaluations/screenings of youth
  • Development of youth health and safety plans
  • Initiation of the youth’s health related history form, identifying the significant problems for the physician, for the completion of the comprehensive physical assessment by the physician.
  • Assists the physician with the medical classifications of individual youth.
  • Responsible for the scheduling of youth for periodic evaluations and ongoing treatment needs of youth with the Local Health Authority/physician.
  • Youth Med Call and and completion of the sick call index.
  • Initiation of the medical referral form/Summary of off-site care and notation of physician orders and further follow up.
  • Nurses notes/chronological progress notes
  • Evaluation of youth and staff injuries, evaluations of youth and staff significant exposures to blood and body fluids
  • Administration of medications and completion of the medication administration record
  • Venipuncture for laboratory testing, immunization administration, TB skin testing utilizing the Mantoux skin test, first aid/emergency care as needed for youth and staff
  • Physical evaluations of all youth involved in an incident
  • Conducts the medication administration training programs for staff.
Job Requirements

Minimum of an associate degree from an accredited college/university, or a diploma from a school of nursing and a current license as a Registered Nurse from the state in which he/she will be working required. 

 

Psychiatric or pediatric nursing experience and supervision is preferred.
