NURSE ASSISTANT QUALIFICATIONS:
A nursing assistant is any person who has at least two years of experience in a hospital or nursing home, providing direct care for the patients or residents.
The CNA must obtain a satisfactory score on a written and clinical test, have current CPR and 1st Aide certifications, have good work references and is able to work without physical restrictions.
STATE TESTED NURSE ASSISTANT QUALIFICATIONS:
An STNA must have completed a course for a nursing assistant and must pass a written and clinical exam administered by the State of Ohio. An STNA must have a state registration number and must be in good standing on the nurse aide registry.
LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE REQUIREMENTS:
1. Practical Nurse graduates of an accredited school of nursing with a diploma, associate degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
2. Two or more years of experience as a Practical Nurse and working knowledge of computers.
3. Holds a current registration. LPN license to practice in the state of Ohio. Meets state CEU requirements.
4. Ability to sit, stand, bend, walk, reach to assist with patients, communicate verbally and in writing, and good interpersonal skills.
5. Must pass a specialty specific written exam administered by Thomas Medics with an %80.
REGISTERED NURSE REQUIREMENTS:
1. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, including a two-year associate degree, three year diploma program, or four year baccalaureate degree program.
2. Current RN licensure in Ohio.
3. Current CPR certification.
4. Annual physician's health clearance including a negative chest X-ray or negative TB skin test.
5. Minimum of three year's experience as an R.N.
6. Have excellent observation skills, good nursing judgment, and communications skills.
7. Must pass a specialty specific written exam administered by Thomas Medics with an %80.
