Ratner Companies is looking for a sharp recruit to drive the development and implementation of upscale (Bubbles Salon and Salon Cielo) marketing programs to increase traffic counts, achieve specific sales and profit goals, and enhance brand image! Is this you?
In this position, Leadership of upscale annual marketing plans including development and execution is paramount, utilizing internal and external resources as needed. You must provide active leadership in both internal and external programs providing strategic direction, project coordination, and tactical execution.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Brand Marketing
- Provide leadership in development and execution of marketing plans to drive traffic, upsell clients and build customer loyalty for two upscale salon chains
- Develop overall marketing plan including online, offline and field marketing strategies and tactics to drive salon revenue
- Development of projections and metrics for marketing programs including evaluation and analysis of marketing programs, trend information and reporting of results.
- Communicate regularly and through monthly meetings with Field Leadership to help set priorities, share ideas, communicate plans for business growth as well as maximize internal/external resources.
- In partnership with the Manager of CRM and Consumer Insights, lead CRM for the upscale brands to include client profiling, segmentation, transactional analysis and direct marketing programs to drive ROI and greater profitability
- Leverage consumer insights to drive the development of marketing programs
- Develop and lead interactive marketing strategy including pay-per-click, SEO, social media and online advertising.
- Partner with Ratner Companies Field Marketing Team on the implementation of brand wide promotions as needed
- Provide input to in-salon service and retail promotional strategy
- Identify incremental revenue opportunities and develop implementation plans to drive results
Analytics
- Development of projections and metrics for marketing programs including evaluation and analysis of marketing programs, trend information and reporting of results
- Solve business challenges through the collection and analysis of business, consumer, market, online, competitive and/or research information

- Monitor weekly sales and customer count review and analysis to drive future actions
- Monitor service performance and service mix analysis monthly
- Monitor website traffic and related marketing programs through google analytics
Agency/In House Creative & Media Management
- Manage external ad agency on day to day basis to execute advertising activities as outlined in the marketing plan. Ensure all initiatives are on schedule and budget.
- Lead agency in development of new brand campaign to include logo development, messaging, creative, media and promotions
- Partner with Creative Director to ensure in-house team understands new brand communication strategy and standards.
- Review and proof all upscale creative and ensure it meets brand standards
Turnaround Markets & Underperformers
- Lead and develop marketing efforts for turnaround salons based on analysis of salon performance, market visit (market dynamics such as client profiles, real estate, competition etc.)and field operations input
- Visit underperforming markets/areas/districts/salons and provide market visit analysis
- Develop and implement customized programs to address markets/areas/districts/salons to drive sales and customer count
- Partner with Ratner Companies Field Marketing Team as needed
Administration
- Prepare monthly budget summaries of marketing activities and measure spending effectiveness
- Develop and manage marketing budgets. Generate and issue monthly: Budget reports: month by month spending, year to date spent and detailed spending by marketing category.
- Provide monthly or as needed report that provides a snapshot of work in progress, or completed.
Leadership
- Participate in marketing event functions, seminars, etc., to stay abreast of new information and further professional growth.
- Work in-salon yearly to better understand our workforce and unique perspective.
- Build relationships with field staff, vendor partners, internal team
- Travel to salons and industry events to gain better understanding of our business unit needs industry trends and market understanding.
Requirements

- 5-7 years of retail local marketing or related experience. Bachelors degree in Marketing or related field or equivalent experience.
- Ability to synthesize complex information and develop strategies to achieve organizational goals.
- Exceptional problem solving abilities, creativity and organizational skills - is able to coordinate and track the details of multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring high quality results are delivered on time.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate, to resolve problems and motivate positive performance in a team environment.
- Must be able to tactfully and effectively exchange and discuss detailed information over the phone and in person with clients from both the field and in-house at the resource center.
- Must be able to effectively plan and conduct meetings and professional presentations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must posses a knowledge of all facets of marketing
