Job Description

Provide ownership and guidance of all new construction, design or engineering concepts being considered for project implementation. Owner of new store design intent/standards.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Responsible for new product/specification development and for existing product enhancement to improve project quality and cost.

-Evaluates components and services of outside suppliers and makes decisions and/or recommendations regarding purchase and use.

-Develop solutions to design problems through the application of design/engineering principals, analysis and empirical methods.

-Leads R&D projects, including responsibility for: using effective project management practices, establishing project teams and their tasks, project planning & control, and providing overall project leadership.

-Plan and develop test methodologies and plans and analytic methods to evaluate and correlate test results.

-Coordinate technical activities based on planned requirements including technical objectives and schedule.

-Directs and coordinates fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.

-Develop solutions to design problems through the application of engineering principals, analysis, and empirical methods.

-Build and test prototype designs for proof of concept. Perform process-related design tasks to support initiative roll out.

-Prepare technical briefings and reports. Plan and coordinate tests; analyze and present test results.

-Prepares complete project documents and design files including production drawings, bill of materials, engineer change orders, test reports & schematics.

Job Requirements

-4 year University of College Degree or commensurate retail experience.

-3 years relevant industry experience.

-Excellent organization and follow through skills, presentation and time management skills.

-Flexible, adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast paced office environment.

-Strong understanding of technical product development and construction in the above categories.

-Knowledge of planning, budgeting, programming, engineering, design and construction of facilities as related to retail project development.

-Ability to evaluate commercial equipment, product or specification options relative to design requirements.

-Keeps informed of new developments and requirements in related fields that affect the organization.

-Should also be familiar with DEQ, OSHA, EPA, USDA and FDA guidelines and regulations.
