Job Description

 

 MedPro Provider Enrollment Coordinator

 

SUMMARY OF POSITION:        Under the direction of the MedPro Client Services Manager, the Provider Enrollment Coordinator is responsible for the coordinating, directing, monitoring and developing the Provider Enrollment personnel, ensuring provider enrollment target goals are met, advising MedPro management on pertinent information related to Provider Enrollment and Provider Enrollment systems, developing and implementing policies/procedure changes within the Provider Enrollment department.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:  MedPro Solutions, Client Services Manager

  

DRESS CODE:                          Corporate Attire or Business Suit

 

MAJOR DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.       Staffing

a.       Direct and monitor work assignments of staff

b.       Monitor staffing needs, manage and approve employee vacation requests

c.       Review and approve employee timecards

d.       Make recommendations regarding staff performance, and provide feedback for annual evaluations to manager

e.       Council staff regarding performance standards Department Goals

2.       Department Goals

a.       Monitor staff’s assignment goals on a regular basis

b.       Provide direction and assistance needed to meet goals

c.       Communicate any delays or significant issues identified to manager 

3.       Training, Staff Support and other responsibilities

a.       Assess training needs of departmental staff, and develop training plans as needed to address specific needs.

b.       Guide staff through problems solving and question resolution

c.       Assist with the advanced development and cross-training of Provider Enrollment staff

d.       Develop departmental procedures, forms and correspondence

4.       Provider Enrollment

a.       Monitor the enrollment process for all Med Pro Solutions Providers

b.      Assign new doctor and department numbers in AR system & notify appropriate staff via email.

c.       Respond to phone calls, faxes, correspondence, and questions from internal and external customers.

d.       Update Med Pro Solutions Provider count spreadsheet on a monthly basis

e.       Obtain and/or renew including check requisition: County & City Occupational Licenses; AL Medical Licenses; Alabama Controlled Substance Certificates; FL Licenses, Federal DEA Certificates; & (NICA-Neurological Injury Compensation Association) for Medical Center Clinic, PA

f.         Monitor and report Physician Exception hold status

g.       Coordinate with insurance carriers to maintain most current application and processes for enrollment

h.       Researches carrier enrollment requirements required for new client enrollment

i.         Ability to perform all aspects of enrollment process as needed

Offer assistance to anyone who appears lost or in need.  Walk patients to their destination rather than pointing the way; use good elevator etiquette.

  • MAINTAIN A PROFESSIONAL APPEARANCE.    Wear your name badge at all times. Comply with the uniform policy for your department or job description. Confine gum chewing and eating to break areas; save personal conversations for break times; turn off non-work related cell phones.  Maintain a neat and clean work area, both in your department and throughout MCC.
  • DEMONSTRATE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE.    Interact with all patients, visitors, and co-workers in a professional and upbeat manner.  Be courteous, respectful, friendly, and helpful.  Express yourself and your concerns using helpful words versus confrontational words or profanity. If you are unable to maintain a positive approach, remove yourself from the situation.

·         DEMONSTRATE A TEAM ATTITUDE.    Remember you are part of a team, and the success of MCC is everyone’s responsibility.  If you don’t know how to assist a patient or co-worker with an issue, find someone who can.  Be personally responsible for making sure issues are addressed. 

  • MAKE LASTING IMPRESSIONS POSITIVE ONES.   Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.   End your interactions with patients, visitors and co-workers with a friendly or kind word.   Make sure patients waiting alone at the front door have transportation home. 

4.  Perform other duties as may be assigned cheerfully and willingly.

Requirements

1.       Minimum education requirement is high school diploma or equivalent.

2.       Minimum two years medical billing experience.

3.       Possess strong critical thinking and analytical skills

4.       Previous experience with provider enrollment and provider enrollment software desired. 

5.       Have intellectual capacity to learn advanced understanding provider enrollment and interpret various documentation sources.

6.       Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

7.       Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

8.       Proficient in use of English language in both verbal and written communication.

9.       Proficient in use of word processing and spreadsheet programs.

10.   Be a person of integrity and character, willing to embrace change, make a positive impact in the lives of patients, co-workers, and clients.

11.   Maintain a positive attitude regardless of work demands and time constraints.

12.   Ability to sit consistently during a minimum 8 hour workday

13.   Ability to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time.

14.   Ability to perform constant repetitive hands and finger motions.

15.   Ability to work in close proximity to others.

16.   Ability to modify work schedule to meet workload demands as needed.

Previous supervisory experience desired.
