SAFETY ENGINEER

Education: B.S. in Safety or Engineering

Location: Denver

Salary 95-106K

Travel: 25-50%

Relocation: Yes

Denver Oil and Gas operator is looking for a Safety Engineer to join their EHS Department. The position is responsible for overseeing the planning and implementing of safety programs for the clients multi-state operations. Responsibilities include refining and maintaining a Safety program at the corporate and field level with the goal of zero accidents and injuries. Other duties;

·          Coordinate and/or conduct training of field workers in accident prevention and safety procedures.

·         Provide safety support for production, drilling and completion operations.

·         Conduct Safety Meetings and Safety Stand Downs.

·         Ensure contractor compliance with safety policies.

·         Analyze Safety Statistics, identify trends, and maintain Business Unit Scorecards.

·         Coordinate/conduct incident follow up investigations.

·         Coordinate/conduct field audits and close audit exceptions.

·         Ensure record keeping is compliant.

·         Work as a part of a Team by maintaining positive working relationships with employees, contractors and regulators.


Job Requirements

Strong working knowledge of EPA, OSHA and EHS state regulations. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. B.S. in Safety or Engineering and at least (5) years of prior oil and gas industry experience in an E&P environment, (10) years preferred. Candidate must have solid computer skills in MS Word, Excel and Access. Safety software and web-based programs for safety training and contractor compliance tracking is required.  CSP and Professional Safety Certifications are a plus.  25-50% travel required.


Petroleum Engineers in other OIL and Gas disciplines are also encouraged to apply.
