(IES) is one of the nation's most respected commercial photovoltaic design / build firms.  We are headquartered in North County San Diego and enjoy an extraordinary reputation with clients that include SDG&E, Qualcomm, Pfizer, the U.S. Navy, Camp Pendleton, and many more...  IES designs and builds commercial PV systems of all types, including roof-mounted systems, ground-mounted systems, solar carport/shade structures, complex hybrid and off-grid generation plants.

 

IES is currently experiencing rapid growth and are searching for an experienced General Construction Foreman with a track record of success.  In this role, you will report to the Director of Construction along with day-to-day accountability to the IES Project Management Team

 

As an IES General Construction Foreman,  you will provide overall field leadership of IES Construction Projects and to ensure timely completion, on or below budget, with exceptional levels of quality, safety and client feedback.  In this role, you will be 100% responsible for the successful completion of the projects under your command.  You will directly manage and provide onsite direction to all IES Field Employees, as well as temporary field resources and subcontractors.  You will be the primary on-site point of contact with our customers and their representatives.  You’ll also be responsible for providing detailed daily, weekly and monthly progress reports to IES Management throughout the project.

 


  

Work Environment:

  

  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.

 

  • Must have the ability to climb a ladder and work on roofs and high places

 

  • Must be able to sit, stand and/or drive for extended periods of time.

 

  • Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects.

 

  • Must be able to physically participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.

 

  • Some travel may be required for the purpose of meeting with customers or off-site personnel / management

 


Requirements


 

This position requires access to sensitive military bases and therefore requires a clean background check (no felonies), U.S. born citizenship, a clean Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) record and a clean drug-test.

 

 


 

Minimum Required Qualifications:


 

  • Must have Ten plus (10+) years experience in the Construction Trades

 

  • Must have Five plus (5+) years experience as a Construction Foreman (responsible for teams self-performing electrical work).

 

  • Must have strong working knowledge of construction drawings and electrical line drawings

 

  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills.

 

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills.

 

  • Must have the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

 

  • Must have the ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.

 


 

Strongly Preferred Qualifications:

  

  • California State Journeyman Electrician Certification

 

  • Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHA) Certifications

 

  • Competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
