Job Description:

This position assists in the preparation and completion of any vehicle in need of repair as it moves through the Body Shop.

Job Responsibilities:

·         Transfer vehicles safely to and from the appropriate areas in the body shop. Load and unload vehicles to be repaired and/or painted and line up vehicles in the correct order.

·         Remove any and all parts as necessary from vehicles.

·         Work with Parts Department to coordinate return of old and preparation of new materials needed.

·         Knowledge of tools required for the disassembly and assembly of vehicles.

·         After vehicle is painted, reassemble.

·         Move vehicles to designated areas for completion and inspection.

·         Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, i.e., jumpstart vehicles, etc.

·         May be required to work overtime (more than 40 hours per week) as business needs dictate.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous buffing experience or experience working in a body/paint shop preferred.

Valid Driver’s License and good driving record required.  Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission. 

 

Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.  Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.  Ability to lift 1-15 pounds (light hand tools, etc.)  Manual dexterity, repetitive motion tasks. Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Frequent exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Moderate noise level.
