JOB SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, the healthcare analyst (HCA) provides analytic and data management support for HSAG’s Federal and State and Corporate contracts. The HCA is responsible for generating accurate results, tables, and figures for a variety of health care studies including, but not limited to, the analysis of health care surveys, HEDIS calculations, network adequacy, encounter data validation, and focused quality of care studies. Duties include the production of descriptive and statistical analysis; the production of reports for presentation and dissemination; and assistance in the design of study protocols, statistical analysis plans, and research methodologies. Working as a member within the Research and Analysis Team, the HCA is also responsible for validating results generated by other analysts.

Requirements HSAG is looking for a professional with a Masters degree in statistics, epidemiology, health economics, public health, or related social science who has experience in healthcare research and statistical analyses, good verbal and written communication skills, ability to work in a complex and fast-paced environment. The candidate should be at least an intermediate SAS user and has a general knowledge of health care research principles, Medicaid/Medicare populations, and managed care, as well as at least two years of experience working with healthcare claims and encounter, member and enrollment/eligibility, and provider data.
