Job Description: Technical Services’ Product Documentation and Labeling Support group oversees global labeling design standards, documentation, specifications and production workflows. The Sr. Graphic Designer is responsible for creating, revising and reviewing multi-language product labeling; including inserts, labels and packaging drawings. Works on projects using graphics applications and content management systems that are complex in nature where independent action and initiative are required. Selects prepress techniques and recommends modifications best suited to produce desired visual effects. Will interface with global project teams, project coordinators and management to obtain requirements and assure product design conforms to corporate and print manufacturing standards. Performs support tasks, creates new designs, illustrations for various media and online systems, obtains translations and coordinates with internal customers. Assures regulatory compliance, processes change orders and obtains approvals.

Job Requirements

 

Boundary Conditions/Authority Levels:

  • Establishes work unit goals and meets objectives.
  • Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules.
  • Works with minimal supervision, deferring complex decisions to project coordinators, technical writers, and management.
  • Provides training for graphic design and production.
  • Communicates project status and issues to project teams, project coordinators and management.
  • Maintains electronic files.
  • Submits project documents for approval.
  • Reads, understands, and follows documentation and department procedures.
  • Participates in development of department procedures.
  • Ensures that skills are maintained on a continual basis to support activities and objectives.
  • Leads or participates in process improvement and Lean Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Must have strong graphic design skills; project planning, communication and customer focus required.
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe, Corel Draw and other graphics applications.
  • 5 to 7 years experience in graphic communications with an emphasis in product literature, documentation, labeling and packaging.
  • BA/MA in computer graphics or related discipline.
