Job Description

Promise Hospital of Vicksburg is currently seeking an experienced full-time Admissions Manager. Excellent benefits including competitive compensation, health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, STD, LTD, tuition reimbursement, generous paid time off and much more!

 

Responsible for intake functions for pre-admission, review of admission criteria and admission of patients with medical needs.  Requires building personal and trusting relationships with referral sources and department personnel.   Knowledge of LTACH criteria, DRGs, PPS reimbursement, utilization management and HIM coding.  This position supervises all personnel of the Admissions Department.

 

Other Responsibilities:

 

  • Assesses and evaluates patient and family needs
  • Develops, discusses and communicates a plan of care for each patient
  • Demonstrates skills/judgment necessary to ensure accurate medication administration
  • Promotes infection control principles
  • Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of pre-admission screening, admissions criteria, Interqual criteria, face sheets, and census.
  • Promotes environmental and patient safety
  • Works intra and inter departmentally to ensure cost effective utilization
  • Promotes efficient use of department supplies and equipment


Job Requirements

  • Registered Nurse.  Current State License required
  • Must have 3 yrs Case Management experience
  • Must possess excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Two to four years supervisory experience preferred
  • LTACH experience is preferred
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Experience in third party reimbursement, DRGs , coding and PPS reimbursement, PI tracking and analysis
  • Good organizational time management and communications skills
  • Experience in problem solving, observation, group dynamics and interpersonal relations
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities
