IT Systems Engineer
Technical Department: – Information Technology
Scope: Reports to the Manager of Information Technology. Will be engaged in project work in application development and interfacing between plant floor process systems and business systems.
Activities directed toward continuous improvement of our processes to produce efficient information flow to improve and support our manufacturing and business processes as a part of our overall Quality System.
This is achieved through learning and working with our Process and Business systems, developing an understanding of our existing requirements and analyzing where improvements may be made.
Develops and maintains a working knowledge of computer technologies and uses that knowledge to both maintain current operations and to advance SDKC’s IT solutions to improve company operations and to assist in the organization’s functional integration.
The company intranet, SDKCNet, and our system interface, MII, are some tools that will be used to accomplish these objectives.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Computer Science
- Minimum 5 years experience with process and business systems
- Experience in manufacturing industry preferred
- Application development in a Web environment
- Programming and database (MS SQL) skills
- Must have excellent communication and writing skills
- Must be motivated and self directed
- Must be a quick learner, logical thinker and have complex problem solving skills
- Will be working in a networked environment with:
- MII for application development and interface (xMII),
- Web servers,
- Business systems (SAP ERP),
- Process computing systems,
- HMI systems (WonderWare, Industrial SQL),
- Wireless and mobile devices,
- Plant floor PLCs
- Visual Basic (VB), C++, UNIX, and MII skills a plus
- SAP skills, ABAP knowledge is a plus
