Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for delivering the Company mission of “Making the Lives of Our Customers Easier" by: providing the leadership and development needed to staff our stores with highly effective and engaged Food Service Associates and Food Service Assistant Managers, maximizing food service profitable revenue growth, meeting all food service operational and compliance standards and delivering outstanding customer service.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customer Focus

·         Develop a customer driven culture that supports outstanding customer service.

·         Develop and maintain a sales focused climate, focusing on suggestive selling and growing guest check averages.

·         Identify and promote business practices to increase sales through a strong commitment toward meeting the customers’ needs.

·         Instill proactive customer support in the store teams via ongoing coaching and training of all team members.

 

Leadership and Talent Management

·       Recruit, qualify, select, hire and develop effective and engage Food Service Assistant Managers and Food Service Associates.

·       Implement progressive discipline to address deficiencies in performance or failure to adhere to company policies or regulatory requirements. 

·       Train and coach the Food Service Assistant Manager and Food Service Associates to ensure that they are confidently able to perform all job duties.

·       Promote The Pantry’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

·       Develop and support a high energy work climate that maximizes the potential of all Food Service Employees and exemplifies the Corporation’s commitment to being a responsible citizen.

 

Food Service Operational Standards and Compliance

·         Meet all food service brand requirements.

·         Comply and promote all compliance regulatory requirements in areas such as age-related work restrictions, safety, and employment law.

·         Maintain company and customer expectations by providing appealing restaurant conditions.  

·         Execute all company policies and procedures.

·         Disseminate corporate communication, policies and practices to Food Service Employees; solicit feedback to share with both the Food Service District Manager and District Manager.

 

Financial Accountability: 

·         Attain all budget targets.

·         Monitor and report changes in competition such as the entry or departure of competitors and changes in merchandising, pricing and marketing strategies.

·         Track and report all changes in the business environment such as changes in traffic patterns, economic development, large employer openings and closings, and customer buying preferences.

·         Analyze financial performance of the restaurant and work with the Store Manager, Food Service District Manager and District Manager to create action plans to improve restaurant performance.

·         Partner with the Store Manager to maximize productivity and profitability in all aspects of the business.

Job Requirements

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

·         High School Diploma or equivalent

·         Minimum 1 to 2 years of industry experience or knowledge or applicable retail experience

·         Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions and take corrective actions to support sales growth

·         Effective communication skills

SCOPE:

·         Typically manages 2 or more full time food employee equivalents

·         Responsible for revenue between $250,000 - $1,000,000
