(NYSE: ZEP) is a leading provider of specialty chemical products to a wide variety of industrial, institutional, and retail customers.  Zep Inc. has a solid presence throughout America and in the international marketplace, reaching into every major city in the United States, Canada and a number of cities in Western Europe.  We are currently seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager in Desoto, Texas.  As an EH&S Manager with Zep Inc., you will manage the environmental, health and safety programs for a company that sells a wide array of products with Excellent Brand Awareness, Strong Brand Identity, and products that offer Truly Superior Solutions.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:
The EH&S Manager will interact with the Central Region’s staff to maintain a strong safety and occupational health program, OSHA compliance, and ISO 14001 certification.  The EH&S Manager will integrate safety into the Zep Business System to make sure employee safety and compliance are key elements of the Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and 5S efforts to help Zep become a world class safe manufacturing company.  In addition, the EH&S Manager position will:
• Implement and maintain ISO 14001 for the Desoto, Texas facility.
• Implement OSHA compliance at the Desoto, Texas manufacturing facility as well as the region’s office environments, distribution centers and sales force.  
• Manages the development and implementation of facility- and region-wide environmental policies, procedures and training in conjunction with Corporate Environmental Policies (i.e. Hazardous Waste Management, Air Permitting, IWW Discharges, and SWPPP Management).  Drives environmental compliance efforts across the region to ensure compliance.  
• Responsible for implementation of safety policies and procedures in conjunction with Corporate Safety Policies (i.e., Machine Guarding, LOTO, PIT stand up and sit down training, PPE and Hazardous Communication).
• Drives ergonomics compliance efforts in manufacturing and office environments to protect employees from repetitive trauma exposures.
• Conducts accident investigations and determines root cause; implements corrective actions, maintains accident records and OSHA 300 logs; investigates lost time mishaps and reports of unsafe or unhealthy working conditions to determine causes and contributing factors.
• Conducts self-audits of facility’s safety program, develops corrective action plans and assigns responsibility for findings.  Audits safety compliance to ensure safety is maintained as an essential part of day-to-day activities.
• Provides employee safety/OSHA training and tracks employee completion for the region.  Communicate regularly with employees and management regarding a variety of safety topics and issues.
• Develops and implements appropriate corrective actions necessary to limit potential sources of employee injuries, conduct job safety analysis and improve safety for all employees.

Requirements
Education & Experience Requirements:
• 5 – 7 years of quality management experience in the chemical industry or a related field
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety, Engineering, Science or other related technical discipline
• Thorough Knowledge of ISO 14001 Quality Management Systems standards
• Industrial or manufacturing experience preferred
• CSP, CIH and CHMM a plus  
• Experience in writing and management of company Safety policies and providing Safety programs preferred.  
• Lean Implementation in a production, warehousing and distribution environment
• Ability to oversee all activities of team members to achieve department goals
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, written & verbal
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access)
• Strong problem solving skills and ability to multi-task; Proven ability to make sound decisions and recommendations; Perform duties with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy
