Description Riggs Community Health Center is seeking a Part-time Certified Family or Adult Nurse Practitioner for our adult health area. Work schedule will be flexible during the week to include Monday and Wednesday evenings until 8:00 p.m. and 1 to 2 Saturdays per month from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The CNP will work independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Provide primary health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. Assess and manage common acute and chronic illnesses. Consult and make referrals to physicians and other health care members of the health care team as appropriate.

Provision of care includes, but is not limited to

comprehensive assessment
ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests
prescription of pharmacological agents and treatments and non-pharmacological therapies.
Teaching and counseling individuals, families, and groups.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and nurse practitioner program
Masters in Nursing required
Current Indiana registered nurse license
Certified as a nurse practitioner by an approved certifying organization
Indiana CSRC and DEA certification preferred
Strong assessment skills required
Excellent interpersonal, communication skills required
Leadership and organizational skills essential
Bilingual especially in Spanish is a plus
