Description

The Business Development Manager facilitates relationships with targeted customers by creating, designing and implementing strategic partnerships resulting in increased overall financial support of the $5M annual exhibit, sponsorship, advertising and promotional event sales budget.

  

Directing the development, planning, sales, and retention activities designed to meet or exceed mutually established business goals of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, imaging & diagnostic companies. This role requires a proven ability to cultivate and foster business relationships with targeted strategic partner business units including convention management, product development, sales management, consumer and brand marketing teams as well as external agency representation. 

  

Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and at least 15 years experience in a closely related field. Experience with trade show sales or pharmaceutical sales of at least $5 million required.  The ability to identify and research sales prospects especially in the non-pharmaceutical industry for future exhibitions needed. Skills required include negotiating, valuing assets, project management, internal communication, and crisis management as well as the ability to develop effective relationships with partners both internal and external. Must work well under pressure and possess a professional, service-oriented attitude. The position requires travel, and occasional long hours.  Supervisory experience needed.
