Description
  • Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and techniques necessary to care for residents with the following needs: IV therapy, therapeutic, neuro and dementia, dialysis,  infectious disease and wound care.
  • Accountable for compliance and consistent application of Resident Abuse Reporting and Prevention Policies, Code of Conduct and Compliance Program, and State/Federal Code requirements pertaining to long-term care nursing services.
  • Reviews Incidents and Accidents and develops appropriate plan to prevent future accidents and incidents.  Conducts audits of documentation to ensure completeness and consistency.
  • Participates in ascreening and admissions processes.  Determines items needed by the facility to meet resident needs.
  • Participates in coordination of resident services through departmental and staff committee meetings.
  • Plans staff development programs to enhance staff knowledge of quality resident care.
  • Responsible for planning and budgeting nursing services.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of current Health Department directives and ensures that directives are implemented by staff.
  • Conducts reviews to ensure facility and personnel are in compliance with State Code Requirements.
  • Works closely with leadership team to ensure accurate and appropriate assessment and documentation regarding resident care.

 

 

 

Requirements
  • Holds current, valid License as a registered professional nurse in good standing.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in nursing service administration.  Additional education or experience in such areas as rehabilitative or geriatric nursing is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of state, federal and local regulations as they pertain to long term care.
  • Ability to lead a team and work in a cohesive environment
  • Possess excellent technical assessment, organizational and documentation skills
  • Must meet health assessment requirements.
  • Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
