Job Description

My client, located in the vicinity of Battle Creek, Michigan, is seeking a Buyer (2-5 years experience) for their manufacturing facility.

 
Responsibilities:

  • Obtains materials, components, and equipment at the lowest cost
  • Coordinates buying activities with manufacturing unit to maintain inventory at planned levels
  • Manages and expedites purchasing orders
  • Direct contact with supplier to ensure availability of product(s)

  •  

    Inventory control/reduction

  • Directly responsible for contract negotiations with suppliers

  • Responsible for control document revisions

  • Must be able to commit resources

  • May be required to be a Purchasing Trainer



Job Requirements

  • BS/BA

  • 2+ years experience in purchasing, supply chain or logistics in a manufacturing environment

  • Must have Commodity expertise

  • Must be able to effectively manage suppliers
  • Effective negotiation skills
