We are currently seeking a Manager of Accounting and Consolidation for our Finance Department.
As the Manager of Accounting & Consolidation, you will manage relationships with the subsidiaries to ensure timely consolidated financial statements. You will assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and perform accounting functions and project as assigned. You will determine work tactics, deliverables and resource requirements to achieve objectives. You will participate in the development and implementation of departmental action plans, work processes and systems. You will:
1. Financial liaison: Manage the relationship with United Way Worldwide subsidiary organizations and the Tri-State regional office for the purpose of generating consolidated financial statements. This position will serve as a liaison who will assist entities, engage in regular communication, provide advice, guidance and structure as needed to facilitate a timely and accurate consolidated close.
2. Financial and informational reporting: Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate consolidated financial statements and reports as required for management, departments, and the board of directors.
3. Audit and compliance: Support the timely completion of the organization’s periodic and annual audits, tax filings and other compliance matters.
4. Reconciliations and account analysis: Prepare monthly account and intercompany reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis. Maintain fixed asset accounts and recognize depreciation.
5. General: Responsibility as a contributor towards the accomplishment of departmental goals and the stewardship of sound ethical standards.
6. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education - Minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Experience Required - 2 to 5 years related job experience in a similar role. Additionally, this position requires demonstrated leadership ability and superior ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Excellent customer service skills. System experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains financial software is a plus. Must also be proficient using Microsoft Excel. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff. Effective team player who can work independently and with the team.
