We are looking for a dynamic sales and service specialists for our new retail location at the Meijer Superstore in Lincoln Park, Michigan. The ideal candidates will have a proven track record of providing phenomenal service and sales, preferably in a financial and/or retail environment and are comfortable with “needs-based" selling.  Ideal candidates should also be exceptional conversationalist with an outgoing and professional personality.  

Responsibilities: 

• Conducts promotions using various delivery channels in the store (In aisles, teams, etc) employing various systems (phone, email, coupons, etc.), as well as in the community and all branches.
• Responsible for educating existing and potential members around any and all opportunities using the exceptional engagement method.
• Interviews members to obtain personal and financial data and completes applications for credit card and other loans, and cross-sells credit union products and services like mortgages, IRA’s, auto loans, etc.;  Meets and/or exceeds individual monthly sales goals.
• Assists in the development and implementation of the branch promotional calendar.
• Takes responsibility for developing an ongoing positive relationship with the store manager and joint promotional opportunities.
• Makes loan recommendations that result in completed loan notes.
• Exceeds all member service standards of the credit union and is an advocate of our culture.
• Represents the credit union in a courteous and professional manner.   

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Associate’s Degree in business or related field is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience working in a professional selling environment.
• Experience working in a retail or financial environment and knowledge of financial services and products preferred.
• 1-3 years of sales experience, preferably in a financial institution or related field.
• Must be an exceptional conversationalist, demonstrating the ability to engage strangers in conversation about our services.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and early evenings. (Please note – Team members are only expected to work two Saturdays per month, and no Sundays. When scheduled to work on Saturdays, in addition to having Sunday off team members will normally receive another day off during the weekday.)
• Ability to read, write and comprehend business communications and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to learn or be familiar with the differences in a basic number of products and services offered by other financial institutions to those offered by the credit union.
