Description

 

The Licensed Practical Nurse under the direction of the Physician and Practice Manager provides appropriate care to patients within the scope of the Medical Practice Act.   The LPN assists in patient education, physician during treatment and examination of patient and administers procedures and treatments as ordered by the physician.

 

I.       JOB SUMMARY

 

  • Performs a variety of nursing care duties specific to patients.
  • Accommodates services and practices for the physician while following established standards and policies.
  • Assists with rooming patients and obtaining vital signs
  • Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations, and procedures to administer patient care.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment, and supplies used to administer patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and pre-cautions to establish a safe working environment.
  • Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports and responding to correspondence. Skill in developing and maintaining quality assurance.
  • Demonstrates skill in establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with patients, medical staff, and public. Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  • Demonstrates ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Follows FPMG policy on cleaning and sterilization of instruments.  Completes FPMG Sterilization Load Record accurately and completely.
  • Outstanding Customer Service Skills
  • Maintains file for laboratory testing.  Reviews on a daily basis.
  • Complies with office policy and procedures for OSHA standards.
 


Job Requirements 

Requirements:

 

  • CERTIFICATE/LICENSE

 

  1. Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing, Bachelors Degree desirable.
  2. National certification preferred.
  3. Registered Nursing license with the State of Florida
  4. Current, valid CPR certification

 

 

·         High school graduate or equivalent.

 

·         1-2  years medical office experience preferred

 

·         Must be willing to float to other FPMG practices, within reason, when patient load, vacation schedules etc. make it necessary.

 

·         The candidate must have physician office experience

 

·         Good clinical skills, customer service skills and good communication skills are a must

 

·         Excellent computer skills.

 

·         Must be bilingual

 

·         Must be able to multi-task
