Description
This is a split position of two openings. Each position is 8 hours per day. One week you would work two days, the next week you would work three days. Each position needs to be available to cover fill-in hours when needed.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

Perform phlebotomy procedures.

Perform laboratory procedures.

Maintain records of procedure performance, patient results, and quality control.

Maintain and operate laboratory equipment.

Computer entry with knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 codes.

Work closely with physicians, support staff, patients.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Other duties as assigned.

Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.

Experienced in generalist lab work.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also stooping, bending, and stretching for files and supplies. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 lbs. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, type, operate a calculator, telephone, copier, fax machine, and such other office equipment as necessary. Vision must be correctable to 20/40 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts. It is necessary to view and type on computer keyboard and to work in an environment which can be very stressful.
Physical requirements may require restraining pediatric patients.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Work is performed in the laboratory area and involves frequent contact with patients. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive.
