GENERAL PURPOSE
The Nurse Consultant manages ongoing clinical operations, oversees the regions ongoing quality improvement functions, implementing policies, procedures and forms that give structure to the companies systems for regulatory and clinical standards compliance.

OBJECTIVES
- To provide training, in-servicing, monitoring and the necessary assistance to maintain the highest level of care from a holistic view.
- To promote interdisciplinary cooperative endeavors, mutual understanding and support.
- To assure all corporate procedure and systems are in place throughout the company and that systems are in place to promote the highest level of care.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS
The Consultant's responsibilities to and functions of the Nursing Facility shall include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Consultation:
Confer at least quarterly with the respective Administrator regarding former and current recommendations, goals and projects.
Advise, recommend, counsel, and instruct regarding accepted corporate standards and practices for the Nursing facility and related concerns and their application to the facility.
Available for telephone consultation in between regularly scheduled visits as the need may arise.
2. Direct Services:
Review of a representative sampling of current systems and records to determine areas of need for additional auditing systems, training and in-service at least quarterly.
Provide reports and trends to the company and assist in developing plans to improve the areas that require it. This includes but is not limited to survey trends, company systems and procedures, trends in facility reports, etc.
Audit charts and systems and make recommendations and provide training as needed.
Assist in the transition of all new facilities acquired under Avamere.
3.Staff Development and Training:
Provide on-the-job training to DNS's, RCM's and other nursing personnel.
Provide on-going training for systems and changes in the systems.
3. In-service/Support:
Facilitate quarterly meetings for the DNS's with the Administrators.
Facilitate annual meetings with the RCM's and DNS’s for training.
Ensure the DNS's are updated on current regulations and continuing education opportunities.
Provide on-going support and training for the RCM's and DNS's.
3. Reports and Records:
Consultant shall provide the facility with a written report following each visit. The report shall consist of the following; Date of Visit, unresolved/current issues, recommendations, next scheduled visit, distribution of reports, enclosures.
