Job Description

TITLE: BSN QUALITY MANAGEMENT SUPERVISOR

DEPARTMENT: Quality/Risk Management

REPORTS TO: Quality Manager

 

JOB SUMMARY:

*Responsible for quality improvement, quality assurance and risk management duties to maintain and improve patient care and services.

*Work with assigned departments and project teams to maintain quality patient care and assure regulatory compliance.

*Analyze, interpret and report data to the appropriate departments and hospital committees.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Collaborate in development/implementation of Quality plans, programs and annual reports.

*Monitor/evaluate patient care activities to identify trends for improvement.

*Support and participate in departmental, facility and system committees and project teams, including leading/facilitating hospital-wide CQI Teams.

*Proactively iIdentify issues related to quality of care; make appropriate referrals, ensuring review, investigation and follow-through.

*Lead and direct key processes (quality, regulatory and risk management functions: Quality Reviews, State Reportables, Sentinel Events, Root Cause Analysis, Peer Review, JCAHO and other accreditation, Risk Management, PRO Quality Projects and issues).

*Effective and efficient computer skills to include spreadsheet, word, and graphics to support assigned initiatives and hospital wide CQI Teams.

*Demonstrates statistical thinking (knowledge/use of simple statistics, process variation and data analysis to provide data analysis for CQI Teams and quality initiaitves.

*Report trends, measures and outcomes to leadership and internal quality groups.

*Meets performance expectations for Customer Service, Teamwork, Resource Utilization, and Staff and Self Development.

  

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
 

EDUCATION:

*Registered Nurse with a BS Degree in Nursing or other clinical health related field

*MS in health related field preferred

*Proficiency in computer software including MS Word, Excel and Access required.



EXPERIENCE:

*Minimum of 5 years or previous acute care clinical experience

*Background in one of the following areas QI/QA/RM required

*Experience with data analysis required

*Experience working with regulatory systems (JCAHO, PROs) preferred

*Experience in large group presentation and facilitation preferred

*Ability to use knowledge of QI/QA/RM to independently make appropriate decisions that may impact hospital accreditation and financial well being.



LICENSURE:

*Current CT RN license or appropriate registration or licensure in other clinical specialty.
