Description
Make your mark in this creative engineering role!
You will be responsible for designing mechanical and electromechanical parts, products and systems by developing and testing specifications and methods, and completing engineering projects by managing, organizing, controlling, and evaluating project elements.
Specific duties will involve:
- Initiating project objectives by studying design plans, engineering drawings, and reviewing specifications and requirements
- Maintaining project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
- Initiating mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs, applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials
- Confirming system, part and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods, testing properties
- Developing manufacturing process and assuring system and product quality
- Maintaining systems and product database
- Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Performing any other job duties as may be required
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years minimum experience required, ideally 8 or more in complete product design (not just individual part design)
- Experience with design of parts made of sheet metal, aluminum castings, plastic molding or any combination thereof required
- 3D modeling and significant Solidworks software experience required
- Project management experience with prototypes, prototype testing, and production supervision a plus
- Knowledge of UL, ISO 9001/2000 standards
- Effective communicative and writing skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects quickly
- PC computer operational skills
