There are currently three (3) project openings for Public Health Advisor 3 - Lead within the Ambulatory Surgical Centers Project in the Office of Investigation and Inspection, Division of Health Systems Quality Assurance in Tumwater.  This project and the positions within it are funded through September 30, 2010.

Primary Duties

 

These lead positions support the Departments mission by providing professional and technical expertise by assisting in the inspection and investigation of Medicare regulated facilities. They serve as experts in ambulatory surgery facility inspections and complaint investigations.  These positions:

 

  • Conduct inspections and compliance investigations.

 

  • Gathers information from multiple sources, determining relevant data and compiling into a final report.

 

  • Provide technical assistance to ambulatory surgery center stakeholders and customers regarding compliance and related issues and explains the results of inspections in various settings including testifying in legal proceedings.
Requirements

Required Qualifications

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in public health, environmental health or allied science AND at least 30 semester or 45 quarter hours in natural or physical science.

 

  • Four (4) or more years (full-time equivalency) of professional experience in public health, including one year in a consultative, supervisory, administrative, or advisory capacity.

 

Desired Qualifications

 

  • A Master’s degree in public health, environmental health or allied science

 

  • Prior experience leading or supervising the work of others

 

  • Knowledge of principles, practices, organization and objectives of environmental health, statues ordinances and resolutions pertaining to environmental health, Federal and State laws and State Board of Health regulations relating to environmental health, bacteriology, vector control, educational principles and techniques.

 

Conditions of Employment

 

  • Willing and able to legally operate a state or privately owned vehicle OR provide alternative transportation.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 70% of the time within the state of Washington which may include overnight, evenings, and weekends.
