Description
Distribution Center Assistant Manager
Responsible for acting in accordance with the policies set forth by Charming Charlie, Inc.
Manages the Distribution Center to insure efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of merchandise and supplies within the Charming Charlie Distribution Center by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Manage the team that receives picks and ships merchandise.
· Recruit, interview and select lead team members and oversee selection of all staff.
· Provide initial training and ongoing development of lead team members and oversee develop of entire team.
· Evaluate performance of team.
· Oversee scheduling to meet the demands of the business.
· Manager labor within budget.
· Execute strategic plan for functions related to receiving, picking and shipping.
· Actively participate in continuing development and improvement of Distribution Center operating procedures.
· Produce and maintain reports that measure daily, weekly and monthly metrics.
· Protect company assets.
· Wearing the proper safety equipment when required.
Requirements

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
· 10 to 15 years of distribution/inventory experience is required.
· Demonstrated ability to multi-task and achieve results under pressure.
· Experience managing people.
· Computer and database application skills.
· Experience with Warehouse Management Systems.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Bilingual preferred.

Much of the facility is not air-conditioned, so the employee must be able to tolerate conditions associated with no air conditioning or heat.
