Urban Active is currently seeking motivated, enthusiastic individuals to join the most respected name in the health and fitness industry! We currently have positions available for FITNESS COUNSELORS, with the opportunity for rapid advancement to management positions. The Fitness Counselor is responsible for promoting and selling memberships to potential new members and selling renewals/upgrades to current members through the use of internal and external marketing efforts, setting appointments and using other company-sponsored presentation tools. This full-time position offers base salary plus commissions and bonuses (no draw), an excellent benefit package including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as a 401-k, vacation and sick leave. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Fitness Counselor is responsible for promoting and selling memberships to potential new members and selling upgrades to current club members through the use of internal and external marketing efforts, setting appointments and using other company-sponsored presentation tools.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Exemplifies the Urban Active 5 Pillar Core Values (Respect, Belonging, Commitment, Progress & Pride)

Generates sales through following up on company-sponsored (walk-ins, Telephone Inquiries (TIs), etc) and employee-sponsored (lead bowls, health fairs, etc) programs, promotions and referrals

Follows up on all prospects using Urban Active sales systems and approaches
Generates leads through community outreach including establishing and maintaining lead bowls, posting flyers/signs and distributing guest passes, etc.

Contacts potential members by phone to schedule in-club appointments
Conducts club tours for potential members, describing the facility, equipment, services and amenities

Presents Urban Active memberships to potential new members

Completes membership agreements and sales process in a timely and accurate manner with a zero exception goal

Maintains and updates the Fitness Counselor Planner on a daily basis
Remains current on Urban Active pricing and promotions schedules

Prepares for, attends and actively participates in sales meetings

Successfully completes Fitness Counselor sales training

Complies with established dress code

Supports other staff in achieving their goals

Consistently achieves or surpasses personal sales goals

Follows up with members who have enrolled to ensure total member satisfaction

Other duties as assigned 
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School degree, GED, or equivalent job-related experience required
• Excellent sales, communication and customer service skills
• Basic computer skills
• 1-2 years sales experience preferred
• Interest in health/fitness
• Satisfactory completion of criminal background screen
